Gratitude
Gratitude is appreciating and acknowledging the gifts and challenges in life. Those gifts and challenges might include people, pets, nature, work, health, home, art …. Yes, challenges have their place too, not as in Pollyanna thinking that denies the pain that is present in health or relationship or financial challenges but to go deeper than the pain and consider if there is gift “even in this.”
Honor Your Bandwidth
Resentment is like a flashing yellow light that cautions us to slow down and reexamine what is going on in our lives to cause our feeling this emotion.
What causes you to feel resentful? Is it offering too much of your energy, time, and resources in ways that are not life-giving? Is it feeling like you are "trapped?" Is it "yes"-ing yourself into a crammed schedule? What is it for you?
When resentment shows up, we often think we can not take time to reflect, but pausing may be the wisest thing to do.

Life is Just One Day
“Life is One Day”, a family member shared with me.
Born in one day
Live in one day
Die in one day ,,,
Today is not a part of life

Adjust & Readjust
Life—and gardens—offer us many chances to rebalance, readjust, prune, and propagate. Wisdom … our bodies … even (or especially) relationships may need a rebalancing of time and attention. And with care, a fruitful life can bloom—even in the midst of weeds, disappointments, and heartbreak.
Give Yourself Grace and Space
Give yourself the grace and space to remember how precious you are—and how precious this life is.
Caring for ourselves isn’t selfish—it’s essential. And your self care might just start with lighting a candle, popping in your earbuds, and listening to a reminder that your needs are important too.
Tame Your Gremlins
There are innumerable ways we can be hard on ourselves. Our internal chatter is often like Gremlins hosting a mad, mean, dance party. Let’s stop the chatter and self-shaming, practicing together.
Who Carries You?
Who carries you when you need support? And who do you carry when they need you? Showing up matters. Community matters. Let’s talk about it.
A Podcast About the Threshold Center’s Beginnings & Ongoing Dreams
This is one of those times it feels good to be talked about.
Listen in on a conversation between our director, Mary Bea Sullivan and our supporter and fellow dreamer, The Rev. John Burruss who talk with the co-hosts of the The Leader’s Way, a podcast of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.
Being In Community
What does it mean to be “in community”? It’s a phrase we hear often. At the Threshold Center, these are the guidelines we use to provide a true place of belonging for all. Come. Be a part of our community.
A Symbol of True Community
Sometimes we need a life raft, or at least a buoy. Accepting help can be difficult… and beautiful. Grab hold. We are going to do this together.
On Healing
Dealing with cancer or chronic illness? We care, and we have facilitators who are certified to help you find peace in this process. One of these programs is Yoga for Healing. More programs are coming each season. Keep checking back.
A Take on our Logo
Our logo was designed with all of our Threshold Center friends in mind: reflecting hope and providing a space to cross the thresholds of life, together.
