Self-discovery is a path worth following, but it’s also a path that can feel daunting and vulnerable. As you navigate life’s thresholds, we foster a safe space to venture into the unknown, feeding curiosity and encouraging the pursuit of creativity and imagination. We celebrate the boldness of those who seek, offering the tools and community to make exploration both possible and meaningful.
Being in Community
The Threshold Center is a place where:
All people are treated with respect, all voices matter, and curiosity is celebrated.
People can heal, grow, and unite without judgment or agenda.
We engage the heart, body, and imagination.
Diversity of life experience, opinion, gender identity, ethnic/racial identity, physical ability, religious affiliation (or none) is honored.
Our actions ripple outward, and we desire to build a more compassionate world.
Story Sharing and Story Keeping are strands that weave us together.
We do our best to listen devoutly to one another by:
holding stories in confidence
speaking from the heart one person at a time
trusting inner wisdom and not trying to fix one another
welcoming silence and pauses
remembering no one needs judging
seeking to understand

Currently, most of our programs are in-person at the Threshold Center which is located at 3794 Crosshaven Drive, Birmingham, AL 35223. We are fortunate to have access as well to the peaceful and beautiful Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church campus. Our hope is to bring programs on-site into the community.
