Wonders & Worth: Seeking Balance Between Achievement and Awareness
Together, we’ll consider what it means to operate at full capacity—without losing yourself in the process
For multiple weeks, we will explore how to integrate achievement and self-awareness, and we will do this interestingly through the lens of four of the Wonders of the World.
Our society emphasizes achievement, what we “do” …what we accomplish. But we also need personal balance and awareness.
For those seeking a better balance of both internal and external awareness and accomplishment, join Mollie as she leads us.
A sample of our multi-week topics will include the following:
1. Inca and Innovation: exploring information about Machu Picchu, the notion of sanctuary. We will build with dominos as we ponder innovation within ourselves.
2. Maya and Motivation: studying one aspect of Mayan culture through art and ritual and then comparing that to motivating parts of our own culture. We will end with a tea ceremony of ritual.
3. Stonehenge and Stability: gaining an overview of the last remaining lentilled stone circle and how we can build structures and patterns that last.
4. Taj Mahal and Tolerance: discussing the intricacies of the Taj Mahal as a tomb, then relating that to our own "inner tombs": where do we put away ideas and stories that shape our beliefs? How do those beliefs then affect how we treat and accept others?
