Gathering Our Wings:A Women's Circle Inspired by Anne Lamott's Bird by Bird
Come together for meaningful conversation, spiritual practices, and practical tools for living with greater compassion, creativity and ease amid life's challenges.
In a world that feels overwhelming, uncertain, and fast-moving, Anne Lamott's beloved book Bird by Bird offers a gentle yet powerful invitation to approach life one step, one breath, one bird at a time.
This women's circle offers a welcoming space to pause, reflect, and remember that we don't have to figure out our entire lives at once.
In our next Women’s Circle series, we will explore the timeless wisdom found in Lamott's reflections on creativity, courage, imperfection, faith, and resilience. While Bird by Bird is often celebrated as a book about writing and being a writer, it is equally a guide for navigating life's challenges with grace, humor, honesty, and hope. Together, we will gather in a supportive community to reflect on themes such as:
Letting go of perfectionism and embracing "good enough"
Finding spiritual grounding in everyday life
Cultivating compassion for ourselves and others
Embracing creativity as a sacred practice
Discovering hope and seeking meaning in imperfect circumstances
Each gathering will include:
A brief mindfulness or centering practice
Readings and reflections inspired by Bird by Bird
Guided discussion and personal sharing
Reflective Exercise: Journaling prompts, spiritual practice or mindful activity for self-discovery
Practical tools for living with greater presence, resilience, and joy
Whether you are facing a season of transition, seeking deeper spiritual connection, or simply longing for authentic conversation with other women, this circle offers a welcoming space to pause, reflect, and remember that we don't have to figure out our entire lives at once.
